Residency at Ross Creek Centre for the Arts

Canning, Nova Scotia from September 10 - 30, 2022

In September, we worked in residency at Ross Creek Centre for the Arts. Arriving as a trio to begin the residency, we were joined by our Dramaturge, Lois Brown, and also Sound Designer, Joshua Van Tassel who created initial mixes for us to work with.

We came to the residency to work on the collaborative performance we are planning to mount in the Spring of 2023. Each day we worked in the studio, on our themes of Care, Failure, Time, Loss and Potential developing the atmospheres, the tone, progression of forms, sounds and settings.

We held a community event, titled Folding Together with seating, tables, tea and cookies and plenty of items to fold/unfold for our guests. We performed the labour of motherhood in our midst, as we collect narratives that will help us in creating audio and visual elements that we may incorporate into our final performance work.
